Not only gorgeous, this bespoke carousel themed cake was 2 tiers of pure deliciousness! The top tier was a 6" vanilla cake and the bottom 8" tier was our signature chocolate cake.
The silver pearl dredges were individually placed onto the bottom tier and all fondant elements, including the horses and poles on the top tier were cut out by hand. If you're interested to learn how we made the candy stripe poles, we have a super easy tutorial for you below!
Red Velvet cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream
Apart from the cake, the client ordered additional red velvet cupcakes to match the cake. We did shades of pastel purple, pink and white and we love how well they complement the cake!
Making the Candy Stripe Poles
1. Roll out the pink fondant into a rectangle (10cm X 8cm), 1/4" thick
2. Roll out the purple fondant into a rectangle (10cm X 8cm), 1/4" thick
3. Place the purple fondant onto the pink fondant rectangle
4. Score out diagonal lines onto the purple fondant
5. Use a scalpel to cut the scored lines and remove alternate strips of purple fondant
6. Lightly press down the strips onto the pink fondant and you're done!
