Gavin & Erica's Wedding Cake

True Love.
It's something you don't see often, but we definitely felt it when Gavin & Erica tied the knot. It was an amazing wedding with lots of dancing, an impressive quick change by the bride & an unforgettable performance by none other than the groom himself (we've booked him for our weddings).

And to top it all off, we were asked to make their wedding cake- how crazy is that?
Gavin & Erica, if you're reading this, we'd like to thank you for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to do something so special. We love you guys!

Making the Cake

We made Chocolate, Red Velvet & Vanilla Bean but only
managed to snap a picture of the Red Velvet :(
To get the straight edges, we decided to go with Ganache instead of Buttercream.
Worked like a charm.

Quilting & Pearls

The quilt pattern was made using a diamond impression mat & we used Wilton's pearls:

Alright, we shall leave you guys with more pictures of the cake & the wedding! Enjoy:)

Elmo Cake

La la la la, la la la la, ELMO'S CAKE!!

Making this cake brought back tons of memories and we were so excited when we were asked to make it!

Who remembers the awesome Elmo's World theme song?

A little fun fact for you:  This is the guy behind the voice of Elmo.

Making Elmo & the Mini Cake

We used red fondant mixed with Tylose powder and sculpted Elmo's body and head, before leaving it to dry and harden overnight.
We also used a toothpick to poke a little hole underneath Elmo's head so that we could secure his head to his body even after the fondant hardened.

Dalia made a mini cake from orange fondant and added a wavy line decorated with Rainbow Sprinkles. She made the 2 out of white fondant mixed with Tylose powder before we dusted it with some pink pearl dust.

We finished the cake off with some cute yellow and orange stars!

Canine Bites: Put Yo Paws Up Pupcake

We picked up a chocolate paw mold from Art Friend and had this great idea for a doggy pupcake!

We used Carob instead of chocolate to make the lollipup.
NEVER use chocolate in any dog treat- the Theobromine found in chocolate is toxic to dogs (white chocolate is fine as it doesn't contain Theobromine).

Ingredients

1/2 cup of sunflower flour
(you can substitute it with wheat flour, etc.)
1/3 cup applesauce
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons of flaxseed
1/2 cream cheese
1 egg

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees.
2. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix until everything is incorporated.
3. Pour batter into the cupcake tin.

Frosting
1. Combine the cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of applesauce.
2. Pipe onto pupcake.

The dogs absolutely love this cupcake!

Coco enjoying her cupcake!
Yes, we know she looks a little crazy.
